These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Troveby and govern your use of our website and services (together, the “Service”), which create AI-generated pet-memorial keepsakes — a watercolour-style portrait and a short written tribute — from a photo and details you provide. By using the Service or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Troveby creates memorial portraits and tributes for pets and other non-human animals only — for example dogs, cats, birds, and other animal companions. Troveby is not a general-purpose photo-editing or portrait service, and the Service is not intended to be used to create a portrait, tribute or memorial of a person.
Troveby produces a digital memorial from your uploaded photo: a portrait repainted in a watercolour style by an image model, a tribute written by a language model from the memories you enter, and a set of still remembrance images. You can create a tribute and view a watermarked, low-resolution preview at no charge before deciding whether to buy the high-resolution, watermark-free version.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to make a purchase. The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
You do not need an account to create a tribute, but if you register you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and remain responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
You keep all rights to the photos and text you provide (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and process Your Content solely to operate the Service and create your tribute. Your Content is never used to train any AI model, and is never sold. This licence ends when you delete the relevant tribute or your account.
Troveby is for pets and other non-human animals — please don’t upload a photo of a person, including yourself, a family member, or anyone else, or use the Service to create a portrait, tribute, or likeness of a human being. This applies whether or not the person is identifiable, and whether or not you have their consent. We don’t run automatic screening for human faces or human content today, so this rule isn’t caught by a technical check — it’s enforced through these Terms, at our discretion, and uploading a photo of a person is still a breach even if it isn’t flagged at the time. You confirm you own or have permission to use every photo you upload, and to have it processed to create a tribute.
You also must not upload or request content that infringes anyone’s intellectual-property, privacy or publicity rights; sexualises, endangers or otherwise misuses images of minors; or is unlawful, deceptive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or violent.
If you break these rules, we may decline to process the content, remove it, or suspend or end your account — including after a portrait or tribute has already been generated or delivered.
Tributes are AI-generated approximations — not hand-painted artwork and not photographs. We design the process to stay faithful to your photo, but the exact likeness, colours and details cannot be guaranteed. The free preview is provided precisely so you can judge the result before you pay.
Prices are shown on our Pricing page in US dollars and are one-time purchases per tribute, not subscriptions. Our order process is operated by our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates (“Paddle”). When you buy, you purchase from Paddle, which handles the transaction, billing, calculation and remittance of applicable taxes, and your receipt. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms presented at checkout. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to decline or cancel an order.
Tributes are digital and generated automatically, usually within a couple of minutes. After successful payment, the high-resolution, watermark-free files are unlocked for download on the tribute’s page. Each tribute lives behind a private link you control and can switch off at any time.
Because you can preview every tribute for free before paying, and because paid items are personalised digital goods delivered immediately, refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which also explains your statutory withdrawal rights.
The Service, the Troveby name and logo, and the site’s design and software are owned by us or our licensors. Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment for a paid tribute, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the resulting portrait, tribute and still remembrance images for personal, non-commercial, commemorative purposes.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Because output is AI-generated, we do not warrant that a result will meet your expectations exactly, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to a tribute is limited to the amount you paid for that tribute. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms, including any claim that Your Content infringed a third party’s rights.
We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes take effect when posted. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Where you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. We would always rather resolve a problem directly — please contact us first.
